Dear Andy,
I very much enjoyed reading your web page on your Mini Moke. It must
have taken you a very long time to design, but it looks pretty good.
I don't have a phote of my Moke to send you because I'm in the middle
of restoring it. (again) I haven't had it on the road since 1986,
but am now hoping it to have it ready for the end of the year.
I think you're right about your Moke 37-GP-59 being one of the
best preserved in Europe. Due to the many modifications that have
been made to Mokes over the years, its hard to find such original
ones as yours. Most people who have Mark II versions like yours and
mine have alot of details wrong on them, like white wheel rims, which
are incorrect for any Mini Mark II. My Moke was one of the very last
English ones made, and came out of the factory in September 1968.
I have a good knowledge of the changes made to Mokes over the
production run, but was wondering whether you have any other photos
of your car that show the dashboard area and rear end. I am keen to
get my Moke as original as possible, and the only other colour photo
references I have are from the front cover of the "Blue Peter" TV Annual
from 1969 !
Are you planning to come to the Mini 40 in 1999 ? The Moke Club are
hosting the IMM so there should be quite a lot of them there !
Keep on Moking
Roger Hill
