This is “Binnie” a Binturong from the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Binnie is one of many residents of Bandung Zoo which is not far from the centre of the city. Binnie is usually a creature of the night and rests during the day, although he’ll not say no to gifts of peanuts….which can be bought at the zoo entrance. |

The Honey Bears know exactly how to look cute in order to cadge some food. There are amazing photo ops at Bandung Zoo on the Indonesian island of Java. There are also “big cats” such as Sumatran Tigers, and Lions and Lionesses. |

|
“Komo” the Komodo Dragon comes from the islands to the east of Bali...this is the largest monitor lizard in the world. In the wild Komodo Dragons can be quite fierce but here at the Bandung Zoo you can see them “up close”. Along with other reptiles including King Cobras and Pythons. |

So how many young people can fit on a Camel or an Elephant? At Bandung Zoo these animal rides are very popular. |

How about this for a photo op? Having a cuddle with such a cute OrangUtan. Loosely translated the name means “person of the Bush”. This little fellow was so happy to be in the arms of Miss Callista Solca from the Gold Coast Queensland Australia. |

You’ll also be popular when you visit Bandung Zoo. The locals will walk up with a big smile and ask for the family to be photographed with you. “Westerners” going to the Zoo are as much an attraction as animals themselves. A visit to this zoological park will give you an opportunity to see the Fauna of Indonesia without having to travel to any of the 17 thousand “other” islands in the Indonesian archipelago. There’s also a small Museum at Bandung Zoo. Admittance is around (the equivalent of) a dollar per person. Your driver should buy the tickets. There are toilets at the Zoo, but they are not western. |
