Text Box: Bandung Trip Advice shopping and eating

The Ciwalk has become one of the most popular places to shop and hang out in Bandung. There’s indoor shopping and outdoor eating and vice/versa.

For “Top End” shopping Bandung’s Super Mall  has an indoor “fun fair” complete with roller coaster and merry-go-round. The food court is enormous and there’s a good choice of restaurants.

Bandung’s Paris Van Java Mall has an ice-skating rink…...on the top floor ….along with great food and lots of specialty shops.

At Istana Plaza is Excelso which serves deliciously brewed Indonesian Coffee and European food. Excelso has other restaurants in Bandung and throughout Indonesia. At Excelso you can purchase Indonesian coffee beans or “ground” to take home. You must try “Toraja Cappucino”!

Indah Plaza is in the centre of Bandung has recently had a complete make-over. Indah Plaza adjoins Bandung’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Shopping for clothes….Bandung is THE place…..materials and clothes are made here and are sold “direct to the public” at so called factory outlets. Garments are exported from Bandung all over the world. You could very well help to cover your travel costs by the savings involved in stocking up on clothing needs while you are in Bandung.

Bandung’s Cihampelas Street also known as Jeans Street is “invaded” by Jakartans on weekends and holidays. Shoes are also manufactured and sold at bargain prices in Bandung...so too locally made international soaps.
