Isabelle Antena | En Cavale

First in a series of upgraded CD reissues by cult French artist Isabelle Antena, ingenue electro-samba pioneer turned jazz-pop polymath.
Originally released on chic Belgian independent label Les Disques du Crepuscule in 1986, En Cavale ('on the run') marks Antena's transition from minimalist electro-samba trio to smooth pop sophisticates. Largely produced by Martin Hayles (Orange Juice, funk and soul), the album's cosmopolitan dance-pop stylings embrace disco (Be Pop, Don't Think About It), latin-jazz (Play Back) and chilled-out ballads (Seaside Weekend, Ten Minutes). Little wonder, for at the time Antena cited Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, Chic and Sister Sledge as major influences.
Running for 70 minutes, this digitally remastered CD features 7 bonus tracks, including the rare b-sides Blow The World Away, Mummy's Not At Home and Behind The Door, plus 12" mixes of the singles Be Pop and Life Is Too Short.
