![]() Hello everyone, welcome to the fourth installment of "buffy in europe" it has been a hectic two weeks since my last column, not only on a personal level (test test and well a few more tests), but also on the uk buffy front. As allways I'll start off with the news, which I have decided to split up into countries, so the country you live in is easier to find. Holland: There isn't any groundbreaking news
in holland. However it is cool to mention that buffy is increasing in popularity
a lot. Last week my local sf shop recieved a new shipment of buffy goods
(magazines, shirts, books you know the deal)and it was sold out within
15 minutes (apart from the shirts of which they sold about 7 in those 15
minutes), and I wasn't even in the shop at the time*g*.
The UK: As allways Carl, the man with his hands on the hottest uk news reports the news from the uk-front: "The main news from the UK over
the past couple of weeks is that the
"The BBC will be carrying straight
through into season 2 next Thursday (8th), but
Sky will therefore be repeating
eight episodes until we finally get to see "Passion"
Buffy is definitely getting a higher
profile in the UK these days. Most of the SF
More UK news and stuff is on carl's website Planet Buffy . Anyways the news from the uk front
isn't all for the good, and although carl didn't mention it, this is something
that has lots of uk fans worried: The uk is cut off from the official magazine.
Word at the british sf/comic shops is that someone will be releasing an
official uk magazine. Although this is good news to anyone outside of the
uk (two mags..at least that is if we can import it), it means that the
shipments of the official mags have stopped to the uk. Ordering online
is the only option as far as I know at the moment, but I'll keep you updated.
Ireland: No news from ireland at the moment, although it is worth a mention that two weeks ago buffy was cut from the schedule for the first time, to be replaced by football. Let's hope they don't go bbc on us! That's all the news at the moment. Now on with some other stuff:
Anyways thats all for me this week.....I hope you enjoyed the fourth installment of "buffy in europe".......I whish my american friends over here at the buffy zone or elsewhere lots of strength to get through the reruns..... See Ya, George
