6x9 Camera
After I visited the ALPA stand at the Photokina 1998 in Germany.
I decided to build a camera like the ALPA 12wa, with a Rodenstock 4.5/55mm lens in a focus mount.
In December that year I bought a second-hand Horseman 6x9 120 filmback ($100) and started with the design and building of the camera. Al parts are of beechwood, aluminium or brass.
The camera is not a copy of the ALPA but a new design and is only for Horseman filmbacks.
The lens-boards will be fitted with screws at the four edges but can easily been changed. (The same way as the Horseman SW612 camera)
I try to make pictures of all the parts I make for this camera, and publish them on this website.
The machines I used for making the parts are described at the "Tools-page".
| The handgrips are made of beechwood (part of a pallet). The main modeling is done with the milling-machine.
| The fine work is done with a chisel, rasp and sanding-paper.
Four brass dowels with M3 thread are glued in the top and bottom of the handgrips.
| The bottom and top plate are made of aluminium and are exactly alike.
| The second handgrip is also ready.
