Granny, as she is known to people who I might as well call friends, Features in several book by Terry Pratchett. She is a witch living in the vilage of Bad Ass in the kingdom of Lancre. She is not a bad witch, at least not by her own reckoning. And since people in her direct vicinity tend to agree with her this is likely to be true. She is a nosy busybody who tries to control the lives of everybody she meets and expects them to be gratefull for this, but you never heared me say that.
