Filenames which end with .zip are compressed with the program WinZip. The program WinZip can also decompress (unzip) for you. You can find WinZip on the internet. unzip all files of one compressed file into one directory.

Programs with a menu expects some action from you.

A viewer that shows you images one by one or in a slide show.
The following files can be shown: *.bmp; *.jpg; *.ico; *.pcd; *.psd; *.pcx; *.ppm; *.pgm; *.pbm; *.png; *.ras; *.tga; *.tif
The program is also able to save them as a bitmap. New in this version:
Added rotating, flipping, zooming and moving in the viewport.
On a fast PC zooming gives the same experience as turning on a zoomlens to change magnification.
Keep Ctrl pressed and press the UP or DOWN key to zoom in or out.
Zooming etc. also works in fullscreen mode
Now you can go forward or backwards in a manual slideshow.
Also added:

When you would like to show a number of pictures you are no longer hooked to your PC or mouse anymore.
You can be sitting beteen your friends showing them your pictures
using a full screen and a remote 10 button joystick to control the slideshow.
That could be nice when your PC is also connected to your HD TV or an other big screen.
It is also possible to rotate, flip, zoom and move a picture using the joystick.
Hit button 4 of the joystick to zoom in.
Other functions and the needed buttons of the joystick are shown in the menu between parentheses.
Push the Joystick to move the picture in the viewport.
Open a picture before starting the slide show.

A clock which shows important days and will generate a sound, or signal at a previous defined time. It can be used as an intelligent alarm clock. 4thclock.exe can be used at 2 levels. When it is restarted, it will continue its tasks. Old settings will be restored when restarted. Just click and run, there are no questions to answer. A complex user interface is avoided by using an ini-file. You do not need to modify it when you use 4thclock.exe on an easy level. OpenGL generates the 3D graphics. Click with the right button in the window of 4thclock.exe for a menu.

The program 4Notes is a gadget that shows a file with notes on your desktop. Various text formats and styles of wordpad can be used. It is just like a primitive old fashion piece of paper at the wall. Put 4Notes.exe in your autofolder to see your notes at the start of your PC.

JukeboxIn4Th is a program that is designed to play music requests in a
certain order defined by the user or by the build in random traveler.
The JukeboxIn4Th needs at least windows XP and Directx 8.1.

Installation:

  1. Copy JukeboxIn4Th.exe and JukeboxIn4Th_readme.rtf somewhere on your drive. For Vista and higher: Copy these 2 files in ANOTHER directory than the “Program Files” directory.
  2. Start JukeboxIn4Th.exe.
  3. After 2 dialog boxes you are ready and able to travel through your music collection using the random traveler. Just hit the button Rnd as soon as your catalog is filled.

Features:

  1. Auto play: Put a link to JukeboxIn4Th.exe in your start folder and tell it to start minimized. Then the JukeboxIn4Th will start in the tray window and play your requests at the start of your PC.
  2. The random traveler will let you enjoy your music that you have not heard or seen for some time.
  3. Most controls are in front and easy to use.
  4. Tooltips that give some explanation.
  5. A slider to browse through your catalog.
  6. Up to 7 music locations are supported.
  7. Search on styles and or artists, albums, or songs using. A '*' can be used as a wildcard.
  8. A narrator that announces the record to be played.
    The narrator can be switched on the menu Options.
  9. A coverwindow to hide the desktop. Note: keystrokes like <Ctrl N> can
    still be used when the coverwindow is active. Click on the coverwindow to close it.
  10. The until time you hear requests can be close after the start of the application thanks to the multitasking part.
  11. Using a wireless joystick is quite fun.
    The following functions are available:
    BUTTON1 Play next request.
    BUTTON2 Announce the song again.
    BUTTON3 Decrease volume.
    BUTTON4 Increase volume.
    BUTTON5 Pause/Resume.
    BUTTON6 Shutdown.

The hibernator might safe you energy costs. EG: A process needs much time to compute. When it is complete the process becomes idle. The hibernator is able to spot this and will try to put the PC in the hibernate state after one minute.
NOTE: The program has only been tested under XP. There is no support to configure your windows system in the right way as is described in the helpwindow. Unzip hibernator_rnt.zip and start Hibernator.exe

A bouncing ball A ball ( sphere ) bounces in a room (3D). You can change the scene while the ball is bouncing.
An egg A transparant egg generated by a mandelbrot formula with a light in it.
A Stone A transparant stone generated by a mandelbrot formula with an inner stone. It changes while it is rotating. It will open when you zoom into it.
A 3D mandelbrot A 3D projection of a mandelbrot.
It appears after 17,576,000 3D points are calculated.

Download Playsnd.zip right now.
The program Playsnd.exe plays direct a wave file without showing a window or message box.
Usage:
Tell Windows to start playsnd.exe when you click twice on a wave file.
This can be done when you change the action for files with the extension wav.
Click twice on a wave file.

Download L2.zip right now. The program shows the size of the L2 cache.
It is possible that your Windows NT HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) does not recognize the amount of L2 cache (Secondary RAM Cache) that you have installed. To force Windows NT to recognize it, edit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

The value name SecondLevelDataCache is a type REG_DWORD. A data value of 0 is the default which sets the L2 cache to 256K. If you have a different amount installed, set the value in decimal.

Example: If you have 512K cache, set the entry to 512 in decimal(Hexadecimal 200).
Note: This bug is not corrected in Windows 2000.
