TUMOR CELL BIOLOGY

Working Party of the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF)

kwf

AIM:

This working party stimulates exchanges of ideas, techniques and samples to improve the quality of tumor cell biological research in the Netherlands. Participation is based primarily on the approval of a grant by the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) within the category "tumor cell biology". Main issues covered are identification of genomic aberrations, involvement of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and the role of growth factors, receptors and their signal transduction in the behaviour of tumor cells. Studies of processes involved in tumor initiation, promotion and progression are of particular interest. Currently this working party counts around 130 members, including both scientists and clinicians.

MEETINGS:

The working party organizes each year in March a meeting for improvement of grant applications. In addition, a two-days scientific meeting is held in April at which project leaders, graduate students (AIOs) and post-doctoral fellows have the opportunity to present results of ongoing KWF projects.

Continue from here to the program of the next meeting which will take place on April 11 and 12, 2005 in de Werelt in Lunteren.
