Brand-new Day

 

Stare into the mirror

each and every morning

clean and wash my face

pick the dried up dirt

from the corners

of my eyes

and put my contacts in

try to smile

it’s the start of a brand-new day

 

Pour myself a strong cup of coffee

‘cause it helps me to wake up

switch the radio on and I listen to

all those lies

the newsman’s telling me

try to smile it’s the start of a

brand-new day

 

Ev’ry day is just the same

no matter what it takes

might be sunshine might be rain

makes no diff’rence what I do

or what plans I make

wish I was asleep and not awake
