Fairy tale

 

Once upon a time

I wanted life to be

a fairy-tale

I could read at will

as long as I saw fit

I could turn a page whenever

things would get a bit too grim

skip the boring parts

and change the story line

 

And in the world behind my eyes

I knew I’d always find

many of the dreams

I’ve kept alive

that helped me make it through

when times were hard

and life ‘s in need

of a story with a happy end
