Frédérique Spigt

Words are not enough to tell about one of the most unique personalities in Dutch music. She makes a kind of music difficult to describe. Rock with soul, rhythm&blues, folk and also with classical elements. A powerful raw voice is her most significant feature, together with her male-looking appearance. But she is a rough diamond. She sings about love and passion, pain and fury, life and death even life after death. It's a little mystical, but keep in mind that it isn't melancholy at all. For that she has a good sense of humour and strenghts to relativate it all.

Recently Frédérique Spigt changed her focus to the French chansons. And again she turns out to be a many-sided all round artist. When you close your eyes when she's singing you think that Jacques Brel and Edith Piaff both have come to life again. Some songs are fully in French, other in Dutch with the typical French setting and there are also songs were French is combined with Dutch. It creates a unique atmosphere. The album "Eén kus" (One kiss) is released in 2006. From January 2007 the theatre tour will be started.
