A total of over 10.000 QSO's were made.

The first time was in 1988 from August 26th till September 8th. Only QRP then with a Heathkit HW-8 running about 1.2 Watts. Antenna was a vertical with four radials on top of my surfboardmast. QTH was Riva Bella near Aleria, in Roman times the capital of Corsica. (Departement 2B).

The second was in 1989 from June 17 till July 1st. The rig then used was a TEN-TEC Paragon. Antenna's a Fritzel GPA-30 for 10, 15 and 20. For 40 meters a fishing pole vertical plus antennatuner was used. Six radials down the dune slope acted as a counterpoise. QTH was the same as in 1988.

The third time me and my wife Margreet decided to have a look at the Westside of the island. We stayed in Calvi, also in departement 2B, from 1990 June 23rd till June 30th. From June 30th till July 15th again we stayed in Riva Bella. The same equipment as the year before was used, together with a TEN-TEC Hercules II transistor amplifier with an output of 550 Watts. This vacation 6000 QSO's and a baby were made. This last act saved our marriage.

After my UNPROFOR mission in Croatia we thought it would be wise to get used to each other again in a "different" environment. For the fourth time we headed for Riva Bella in the very end of the summer season (1993 October 2nd till 8th). Equipment TEN-TEC Paragon and Hercules II, antenna a Cushcraft R7.

TK/PA7BT/P
During my fifth visit to the Ile de Beauté.
