Parts of the guitar
A. Resonance-box European fir- or spruce-fir wood.
B. Comb The nylon-strings are knotted in holes.
C. Soundhole.
D. Side and back-blade Palissander - although sometimes maple, nut-wood, beech-wood and other hardwood kinds are very suitable.
E. Neck Mostly mahonie or ceder. Classical guitars have shorter and broader necks than steel-stringed guitars.
They only have 19 frets. The 12th fret is at the height of the resonance-box .
F. Tune-keys with a screw-thread and a rod of bone, ivory or plastic, which are used to wind the strings around.
