Ladykiller III

Bad start of Christmas morning

What can I tell you about Ladykiller III.

Well it was the mini of my brother who had many small accidents with it. Last one was really the worst one. Damaging the front end. Top photo he parked is mini on christmas morning in a sand bed. Bad boy. It was known as the Cameleon for dutch people. Because every time you saw it, it was different collor. From bleu to grey and red with yellow front.

He already dismantelt the front end so he could fit a flip front. So thats already done. Now I have to make it like a really nice race Ladykiller III.

More photo's of the Cameleon. This photo's where taken after my brother parked his mini against a bulldozer.

Update on Ladykiller III

Last few weeks I finally could spend some time on building Ladykiller III.

And yes I also made some photo's.

It's getting already the looks of a race car.

Yes and I like to have mess around me. I know it doesn't work well for some people, but for me it's good. Here you can see also the beginning of a flipfront. My brother startde it a little wrong. He didn't get out the engine. So working on it is difficult now.

Some thins have to move to get a better job to finish something.

I removed some metal, for better accces for the wiring loom.

Here is my brother helping me with welding in the seat frame's

Here you can see the almost finished seat arrangement. It's almost like a real racer.

Yep. I tryed it already getting first in my dreamrace (hahahaha).

This are some photo's I made last few weeks. I will update this page as many time's I finished a photo film. Yes ron that can take some time.

Hey ron. What you think of these pics. And you didn't have to wait long for it.

what do you think of these wide wheels, cool.

And they will be covered by group 5 arches.

Hart and lungs saperated.

Spot the difference (yep it's difficult)

1. front mounted radiator. Bad choice it was to big !!

2. original setup. it's not easy to spot these difference's.

1. aluminum dash. It's just trying. This will not be ready for 40 years mini. I think I will mis some details, But that doesn't matter it will drive.

2. Yes, it already disapeard it's standard again. But racy pedals.

This was it for now. I will keep on working on the car and on the photo's.

Well the car was finished before the IMM and al the party's. I didn't make any photo's from that time on. Bad boy !!

I can tell you just a little story about what happend afterwards. We had some shows and races in holland. One show was at a travel exhibition where a friend (ron chrasstate), managed to get 13 different mini's in one week time together. It was a great event. (pictures will follow).

At the end of 1999 I raced my mini for the first time at a slalom. I took 4th place just beaten by 3 1300 engined mini's.

The year 2000 started wel with a slalom from the minisevenclub nederland. I finished 2nd 0.10 behind the winner. Both cars running 998 cc engine's beating al the bigger tuned and powerd 1300 mini's this was a fun day out.

The second test also from the minisevclub nederland was a little bad day for me. Hoping I could continue with the speed I had with some changes on the car, I thought it should do well again. But no!! I finished 8th. I don't know what happend but I was running well but there were no good times recorderd by me.

In may I raced a slalom against some bigger machinery. A Toyota starlet 1300 and 3 mini's where racing for victory. I already took quickly 2nd spot behind the To####. After 4 runs it was To#### Ladykiller III, Peggy (also a mini driven by a Lady driver) and Ladykiller III (but now driven by my girlfriend it was here first race and drive ever in a mini).

We still had 2 runs to complete. But Ladykiller III failled. Strange noises from the engine made it clear there where no good times for us to make. Already at the start we lost time because it wouldn't pick up speed. It was a shame I will never know if I could 1st spot and my girlfriend could drive to 3rd spot. But I can give you the times after finishing the race:

1. Toyota starlet 1300 : 35.77

2. Ladykiller III (roald) : 37.11

3. Peggy (angelique) : 41.07

4. Ladykiller III (cindy) : 42.11

Al the mini's running 998 cc engine's.

Well I have found some picture's of this race.

waiting for the starting line.

A few meters after the start shifting up to second gear

Just a short straight to the first cones.

Already at the way home. High reving the engine in 2nd gear.

Really the last 2 cones. They were perfect for the mini still in 2nd gear flying trough to get to the finish.

And if you think Ladykiller was the only mini, NO. This is a picture of Peggy. (It's now correct angelique ??)
