I guess that architect and industrial designer Luca Trazzi (born in Verona in 1962) is most recognised for
the X1 espresso machine that he designed in 1995 for FrancisFrancis (Francesco Illy). So it's no wonder that
he was asked to decorate several illy collection sets. The 1994 Trazzine cups, might be called a premiere. Not only the cups were decorated, but for the first time the saucers too. And for the first time the “illy collection” cups were made by IPA instead of Richard Ginori.
But there is more, there are two versions of the Trazzine series which are just slightly different. Some cups have a white “illy collection” inscription inside, other ones don’t. The set was also released for amici in the same blue color, but there is a beige/white amici Trazzine set too!
