Sandro Chia (born in Florence, 1946) traveled extensively in India, Turkey and throughout Europe before settling in Rome where he had his first one-man show in 1971. Since then he is one of the world's leading contemporary art artists. His works are displayed in the artistic capitals of Europe, America, and Japan. The Biennial of Venice dedicated an entire room to him in 1989. Chia currently lives and works between New York, Montalcino and Rome.

Six dances, Tarantella, Twist, Tip-Tap, Waltz, Samba and Tango, six decorated illy collection cups in both espresso and cappuccino size. Chia decorated this series in 1997, but somehow the set became not the big success as the previous Facce Italiane set. But like this set, there was a 7th cup released. was.
