![]() These three limited edition espresso cups, White, Gold and Platinum were designed by Luca Trazzi, for the 1997 Biennale in Venice. The cups were only for sale at the exhibit. Prices seemed high then, but when you are the owner of a Gold cup now, you might consider your self to be very lucky because of all the listed cups by illy, this is the one with the lowest quantity production (97). I heard that there are false cups for sale, so if you're looking for a gold cup, always ask for the original box and the certificate of origin. It realy should be there! Beside that, take a good look at the scan on the bottom of the cup! As I mentioned before, only 97 gold cups were produced. So , the number on the bottom should be below 98. Luca Cattaneo has a list on his web-site with owners of a gold cup together with the number of the cup. Just follow the link. Last but not least the price. You will not find an original gold cup for less then €3500! If you can't find one, or think its to expensive, there is also an amici VeneXia Gold cup that came together with the platinum cup in a set. Please note that, in this, limited to 250 pieces version, only the ear of the cup is cold painted and not the saucer! |
