International Flight (washing machine)



Norma Jean is the real-life pseudonym of Marilyn Monroe. However, the name Norma Jean was not allowed because of the trademark rights, so this young Italian artist uses Norma J. instead.

This cup and saucer were the first of a set of six cups that was released a year later.

This 2001 special edition cup came in a very special package: A WASHING MACHINE! It was released at Norma J's exhibition in Rome (May 2001). The cup is signed and numbered and so is the saucer. It was for sale on the Italian Illy site for about $45. When you shop around on the internet it still can be found, but the price has gone up since then.
