The T-84 is an upgraded T-80UD. It is fitted
with modern fire control systems and night
vision. The main upgrades are the Shtora-1
electro-optical countermeasures system and
Arena defence system. |

| The T-84U has improved armor and new side
skirts. It is also fitted with an APU. The
‘U’ stands for upgraded. |
| Both T-84 and T-84U can be fitted with a
120mm cannon. This version is developed for
export. The Ukrainian 120mm cannon is similar
to the Rheinmetall L/44 cannon. |
PERFORMANCE
The T-84 and T-84U are of the same quality
as the T-80UE. They are widely exported,
for a modern Eastern tank. The T-84 with
120mm cannon is developed to be sold to Eastern
Euopean countries, which are joining NATO.
Turkey might buy the Yatagan.
