come from. Your host is Leendert Smit (see photo), former president and
member of honour and now webmaster of this site of the Artistic Rollerskating
Club "K.R.C. Rolling" from Nieuwegein - Holland.
One of the 15 artistic rollerskating clubs of Holland - called K.R.C. "Rolling"
- is situated at the town of Nieuwegein.
Nieuwegein is one of the suburbs of the town of Utrecht - just in the centre
of the Netherlands. Just look at the map on the left. If you want to know

The other 14 artistic rollerskating clubs in Holland are located
(look at the map on the left) at towns and villages in the west, south,
etc. of the Netherlands:

K.R.C. "Rolling" itself was founded in 1978. Since February 1996 it
has a magnifique rollerrink
in a sporthall at Nieuwegein: "Sporthal Galecop", located at the "Aert
de Gelderhage 7". This sporthall is also used by other kind of sportclubs.
(Nieuwegein has about 60.000 inhabitants and is a very sportminded town
with a lot of sportclubs)
The Secretary of State of Sports (and former Olympic swimmer) Erica
Terpstra and the worldchampion Ice skating Rintje Ritsma opened sporthall
Galecop on May 7th 1996 by pushing a big rollerskate through a paperwall.Members
of K.R.C. "Rolling" and of the handballclub "H.V.N." performed together
a showact for the present officials.
K.R.C. "Rolling" is a member of the Dutch National Rollerskating Federation
(N.R.B.), in which two roller skating tranches are united: artistic rollerskating
and rollerhockey. (Skeelers have their own union).
"Rolling" does free-style rollerskating (single), figure skating and
showact skating.
Famous big groupperformances on showskating - with which "Rolling"
participated the National Show Championships - of the last years counted
more then 40 kids in the show. With these showacts. K.R.C. "Rolling" belongs
to the top 5 in showskating in Holland. They were:
