During the season Grand Slam looks back statistically (when possible) on other pages of this site to international events in which Dutch teams participate. 9th Super Cup Baseball
dates to be announced, 2000 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands / Rimini, Italy

The dates and site of the annual Super Cup-series between the winners of last years European Cup and CupWinners Cup will be announced later.
Participating teams: Neptunus (The Netherlands) and Rimini (Italy)


37th European Cup Baseball, A-pool
June 13-18, 2000 - San Marino, San Marino

In this years European Cup-tournament, which was staged in the beautiful capital of the world's smallest republic San Marino and in the Italian city of Rimini, Dutch national champion Neptunus (Rotterdam) participated and won the European Cup.

Pool A: Viladecans (Spain), Paderborn (Germany), Parma (Italy), Draci Brno (Czech Republic)
Pool B: San Marino (San Marino), Gorn (Ukraine), Rimini (Italy), Neptunus (Netherlands)

11th CupWinners Cup Baseball, A-pool
June 13-18, 2000 - Grosetto, Italy

In this years CupWinners Cup-tournament, being played at Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia (Italy) the Dutch team of HCAW (Bussum) participated and won the CupWinners Cup.

Pool A: Olimpija Karlovac (Croatia), HCAW (Netherlands), Technika Brno (Czech Republic), Collecchio (Italy)
Pool B: Bonn (Germany), Alby (Sweden), Grosseto (Italy), Nagykanisza (Hungary)

European Championships Juveniles
July 16-22, 2000 - Chocen, Czech Republic

This years European Juvenile Championships will be staged in Chocen, Czech Republic.

Participating countries: Czech Republic, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland and Russia

July 17-23, 2000 - Namur, Belgium

This years B-pool European Junior Championships will be staged in Namur, Belgium.

Participating countries: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Great-Britain, Poland and Switzerland


European Championships Cadets Baseball
July 22-30, 2000 - Pamplona, Spain

This years European Cadet Championships will be staged in Pamplona, Spain.

Participating countries:
Group 1: The Netherlands, Israel, Poland and Russia
Group 2: Czech Republic, Italy, Romania and Spain


European Championships Seniors Baseball, B-pool
July 30-August 5, 2000 - Zagreb/Karlovac, Croatia and Bratislava/Trnava, Slovakia

This years B-pool European Senior Championships will be staged in both Croatia and Slovakia.

Participating countries:
Group A at Slovakia: Belarus, Lithuania, Poland and Yugoslavia
Group B at Slovakia: Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia and Ukraine
Group C at Croatia: Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary and Switzerland


19th World Championships Juniors Baseball
August 4-14, 2000 - Edmonton, Canada

This years AAA World Championship for Juniors is being played at Edmonton, Canada, with participation of the Dutch national junior team.

Participating countries:
Pool A: Canada, China, The Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, USA
Pool B: Australia, Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Italy, Russia, Venezuela

20th Haarlem Baseball Week
August 4-13, 2000 - Haarlem, The Netherlands

This year the Dutch national baseball team participates in the 20th edition of the bi-annual Haarlem Baseball Week in the Pim Mulier Baseball Stadium, located at Haarlem, The Netherlands.

Participating countries: Cuba, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Taiwan and USA.

Cal Ripken World Series Juveniles
August 19-27, 2000 - Mattoon (Ill.), USA

In Mattoon, Illinois, the inaugural Cal Ripken Baseball Division World Series for Juveniles will be organized, with participation of five national teams, including The Netherlands.
Also participating are regional championship-teams from the United States. After a preliminary round, the winners of the American and International pool will meet to play a final game.
This year is the first year of competition of the Cal Ripken Baseball Division, the 12-and-Under Division of the Babe Ruth League, and named after Baltimore Orioles great Cal Ripken, Jr.

27th Olympic Games Baseball
September 15-October 1, 2000 - Sydney, Australia

This years Olympic Games at Sydney, Australia, will include an eight-team gold medal baseball tournament, including the Dutch national team, the reigning European champion, as well as Italy representing the European continent.

Participating countries: Australia, Cuba, Italy, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, South Africa and United States.

9th Rotterdam Baseball World Port Tournament
dates to be announced, 2001 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The ninth edition of the bi-annual World Port Tournament will take place next year at the Neptunus Family Stadium at Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with participation of the Dutch national team.

European Baseball Championships Seniors, A-pool
dates to be announced, 2001 - Bonn/Wuppertal, Germany

The next A-pool European Championships for Baseball Seniors takes place next year in the cities of Bonn and Wuppertal in Germany.
The tournament will be a qualification event for the 2003 World Championships.

July 24-29, 2000 - Enschede, The Netherlands

This years European Championships for Juniors Softball Women and Softball Men will be organized by Tex Town Tigers in the city of Enschede (The Netherlands), with participation of the Dutch national junior team in both events.

Participating countries women: Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, The Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden.

5th Haagse Softball Dagen (The Hague Softball Days) - Softball Women and Men
August 4-6, 2000 - The Hague, The Netherlands

Dutch club Storks (The Hague) organizes again its three-day tournament called 'Haagse Softball Dagen' ('The Hague Softball Days'). This international invitational event, which is being organized for the fifth time, will field both softball women and softball men teams.

23rd European Cup Softball Women, A-pool
August 14-19, 2000 - Macerata, Italy

In this years European Cup-tournament, which will take place at Macerata (Italy), the Dutch reigning champion Terrasvogels (Santpoort) participates. Macerata (Italy) won the Cup last year.

9th CupWinners Cup Softball Women, A-pool
August 14-19, 2000 - Prague, Czech Republic

In this years CupWinners Cup-tournament, to be staged in Prague (Czech Republic) and organized by Chemie Praha, The Netherlands will be represented by Sparks (Haarlem). Last year the Cup was won by Peanuts (Italy).

11th Haarlem Softball Week
dates to be announced, 2001 - Haarlem, The Netherlands

The eleventh edition of the bi-annual invitational women softball Haarlem Softball Week will take place next year, in 2001 at Haarlem, The Netherlands, with participation of the Dutch national team.

dates to be announced, 2001 - Austria

The next A-pool European Championships for Softball Women Seniors will take place in 2001 in the Czech Republic.

The B-pool tournament will be in 2001 in Austria.


10th World Championships Seniors Softball Men
July 7-15, 2000 - East London, South Africa

This years World Championships will be played at East London, South Africa. The Dutch national team is amongst the sixteen participating countries.

Participating countries: Australia, Botswana, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Japan, Lesotho, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, USA and Venezuela

August 21-26, 2000 - Prague, Czech Republic

This years European Cup-tournament will be played at Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic and will be organized by Sokol Prague. The Dutch team of Domstad Dodgers, the national champion, will participate.
