Saturday, May 22
Andrea Winkler singled for the only Dutch hit off of Melanie Roche, who struckout eleven to start the 'Challenge Series' between The Netherlands and Australia. Australia opened the score in the first when Natalie Ward tripled in two runs after an error.

Australia rallied in the third for four runs and once again the Dutch offense managed to get only one hit, this time a double by Mariska de Jong in the second, who later scored the lone Dutch run on Nicole Wessels' grounder.

Tanja Harding struckout ten, six consecutively, and pitched a perfect game in a 0-0 tie. Australia had only one hit off of Joyce Smit, who returned to the national team after announcing her retirement after last season.

Sunday, May 23
A day after her perfect game Tanja Harding pitched a one-hitter. Australia won the game in the fourth after Haylea Petrie, who tripled, scored on Peta Edebone's single.

Monday, May 24
Peta Edebone, Natalie Ward and Tanja Harding hit three consecutive one-out triples to break open the game in the fourth, scoring twice. The Dutch had two hits, coming from the bat of Mariska de Jong and Daniëlle Schroër, who was added to the team earlier in the day due to injuries. Catcher Gaby Blüm also was added.

Today Melanie Roche struckout all eleven batters she faced. The twelfth putout in this four-inning (3 innings plus a tie-break) came in the fourth when the Dutch tie-break runner was thrown out. Roche was credited with a perfect game. Natalie Titcume homered for Australia.

The Dutch played a defensive good game, preventing Australia from scoring in the first inning. Sue Fairhurst pitched a no-hitter as Australian pitching again was too strong for the Dutch offense.
