Dear Mary,

Many thanks for your letter & the quote on James Q from Porthleven. It's greatly appreciated.

Have telephoned Cornwall Record Office & am booked in with you on June 1st (Wednesday). Am away from May 6th - 21st so will contact you on my return. Am looking forward to the visit v much.

Am enclosing the photo of Richard Davey as promised. He was s/o Henry & Frances Trevan. (7th child & 4th son) bp 1818 at Sheviock. It is believed that he became parish clerk tho Greg mentioned a doubt.

Here are the Trevans found in the St Andrews burials 1674-1696
3rd Aug 1695 - Elizabeth d/o Philip Trevin of Stonehouse (This spelling suggests a French connection)
17th July 1696 - Thomas s/o Philip Trevane of Stonehouse

The 1861 & 1871 Torpoint census is now permanently at the Mormon Church. Although friend Marlene & I viewed both it was not as thoroughly as I would have wished.
1861 cens Antony Parish
Hay Farm
Mary Trevain serv 12 b Crafthole
Antony House (Is this the Carew connection?)
Caroline Trevan 27 Laundry maid b Antony
Loch Lomond (A big house in Torpoint)
Mary Jane Trevann (double 'n') 12 serv b Antony
Eliot Sq Torpoint
Thomas James h 45
Elizabeth Trevan, niece 15 Asst Butcher b Crafthole also some Burt in-laws not recorded.

We only had time to skip through the 1871 cens. I feel I must do it again sometime.

Joyce Clarkson gave her talk on workhouses last Wednesday. She was nervous beforehand but soon lost it. It was recorded for a Canadian member & the Society will have a copy.

Our wedding went off OK on Saturday. No hitches, except for a tramp who pushed in during the photo session & gave Debbie a bunch of flowers - picked from the church grounds!

Must dash now

V best wishes

([signed]) Brenda

    Notes:
  1. The name Philip suggests these St Andrews burials are most probably Treveans
  2. Mormon Church - the one in Plymouth which made it's genealogy facilities available to the general public
