John was not baptised at Sheviock. At first sight, using the on-line IGI, the most promising candidate is the John Parsons who was baptised at St. Neot, son of John and Elizabeth in 1775. This is the same parish that the Lord's lived in prior to moving to Sheviock, and also John and Jane named their first daughter Elizabeth and first son John.
When they married John was described as a Yeoman, but later in 1814 as a husbandman and later again in 1817 as a schoolmaster of Cot. By the time of the 1841 census he was described as an Ag Lab. Wife Jane and son William were in the same household along wit Alfred Lane, aged 6.
When John and Jane died their address was given in the burial register as Wacker Mill. John was buried on 30 Sep 1846 and Jane on 22 Nov 1846.
The 1861 census gives his profession as "idiot".
Nicholas Parsons was born 4 Jan 1807 and bapt 26 Feb 1807 at Sheviock.
By the time of the 1841 census he was not living at home. Searching the FreeCEN site for him resulted in a possible entry for him as a Miller in the parish of St Johns.
Seaching the 1861 census (Archive CD Books) shows him at Maker

Lewis was born on 9 Jan 1812 and baptised on 2 Feb 1812 at Sheviock.
His marriage to Philippa Pearn is registered under the name of Lewis Parson in the St Germans registration district in 1838Q4.
At the time of the
1841 census when he was a Miller living at Inswork Mill in Maker with his wife and 2 children and 3 servants.
They had 2 known children:
- Mary Jane Parsons (1839-)
- John Parsons (1840/1-)
- Phillippa Parson (1842-) birth registered St Germans 1842Q2 is probably their daughter too
His death was registered aged 58 in the Plympton Registration District.
Mary Ann Parsons was baptised at Sheviock on Christmas day 1817, when her father John Parsons was described as a schoolmaster living at Cot and his wife's name was given as Jane. She married John Pawley on 17 Aug 1839.
They had 2 known children:
- Lewis Parson Pawley (1840-40) bpt 30 Jul 1840 and bur 15 Dec 1840, both at Sheviock
- Emily Pawley (1842-) bpt 11 Jan 1842 who married in 1863Q1
Allegedly, John Pawley had disappeared by 1847 and was presumed dead 7 years later.
Mary Ann then married an 80 year-old mariner who had fought with Nelson at Trafalgar and subsequently had more children. (Source: Cathy Millward who forwarded research done by Patricia Ruffle)
At the time of the 1861 census, Emily was a dairy maid living with her uncle Nicholas Parsons in Maker.
Searching the FreeBMD site shows that Emily Pawley married in 1863Q1, and on the same page is a marriage entry for Thomas Henwood, which is a name that recurs on my family tree. Until the transcriptions are more complete it is premature to say that they married each other, but it is a possibility.

The Church paid for vermin to be destroyed, and a "Fitch" would have been a
finch.
