There were several other Male families having children baptised in the same period (Nicholas and Ann; William Bonear Male and Elizabeth; Christopher and Elizabeth; and in 1809 and 1811 Nicholas and Mary Ann).

Brief Description
Matthew Trevan, yeoman of Eggbuckland, was born in Stoke Damerel, Devon and married and buried in St. Teath, Cornwall. His father was also called Matthew and was also a yeoman and it is difficult to tell whether some references are to the father or the son.
The references which seem certain to apply to him and not his father place him as living in St Teath in the early part of the 1790's.
- Churchwarden's Accounts book
- 1790: The meeting held on Easter Monday to nominate Robert Bake and John Bant as the churchwardens for the following year was signed by Matthew Trevan among others, and also Nicholas Male

- 18 Jun 1794: His brother-in-law Ralph Clark addressed a letter to him at St Teath, Cornwall
However, in the Rate and Tax Assessment on 28 Mar 1799 there is no mention of Matthew Trevan, suggesting that he was not living in the parish at this time. However, his daughter married Moses Male in th e parish in 1803 which suggests that they maintained contact with the parish even if they were not living there.
On his headstone of 1809, which is against the outer wall of the church building, he was described as "of Pengelly in this parish". His wife Ann nee Bake is from a Cornish family. She was buried in the parish of St. Mabyn in 1835, age 78.

In the parish register, when he was married Matthew was described as

At the time that Lake's Parochial History was written Matthew's headstone was in the North Chapel of St Teath. By the time I visited the churchyard in the late 1980's it was on the outside wall of the church. The inscription reads
|

Gives his MI at St. Teath
Letters: He received letters from Ralph Clark, which are published in
Ralph Clark's diaries
- Brother-in-law Ralph Clark - letters in
Ralph Clark's diaries.
- Sister Frances Trevan married Purser John Copeland at Stoke Damerel in 1783, and Fanny Copland is mentioned in a letter of 1794 in a way which suggests that Matthew saw her regularly.
