Brief Description of the Family

Isaac was baptised on 30 Dec 1842, son of Anne Trevains living at Hawk's Tor in the parish of Blisland. No father's name was given.

From the census records Isaac was described as a labourer (1871), agricultural labourer (1881) and a Stone Hedger (1891).

He married Abigail Coppin Rich in the Bodmin registration district in the autumn of 1867. His wife's father, Arthur Rich a shoemaker, was also reputedly the father of his uncle Benjamin John Trevains. Following their marriage the family lived in the parish of Temple, but used the church in the nearby parish of Warleggan. At the time of the 1881 census, Arthur Rich was described as an 80 year old pauper who was lodging with them. His place of birth was given as Camelford.

Abigail died age 70 during Apr to Jun 1912 in the Bodmin registration district.

Note that in the Warleggan registers the surname was spelt variously as Trevains, Trevean, Treveans, Trevan
