Brief Description of the Family
William was baptised at St Erth on 19 Feb 1775, son of Philip and Jane. He married Elizabeth Richards from Gwinear on 10 Nov 1810. According to a family tree from information from other unidentified researchers, forwarded to me by
Paul Chandler, she was born in 1800, making her only 10 when she married! They had a single known child, Elizabeth, bap 12 Feb 1827. The tree shows that she married a miner of 'Barcutton'.
Philip died at Gear Farm on 17 Dec 1856 according to tree that was copied to me by Paul Chandler. His death was recorded in the Penzance Registration District.
The 1871 census information records that there was an Elizabeth Trevean, miner's widow aged 72 and born in St Erth living in St Erth. In the autumn of 1880 an Elizabeth Trevean died in the Redruth registration district, aged 77. Since by the time of the 1881 census the only Trevean living in England and Wales was Joanna, the death must be for this Elizabeth, even though the age does not match exactly.
