In de lijst met de 880 beste platen uit de 80's boekte Van Halen drie noteringen.

Why Can't This Be Love haalde nummer 455, Runnin' With The Devil nummer 351 en Jump schopte het zelfs tot een 55e notering. David Lee Roth's California Girls kwam niet verder dan plaats nummer 704.

| Jump was the first single from 1984 and the band's first #1 hit! The song was recorded on an Oberheim OBX-A keyboard and really introduced the world to Van Halen's keyboard-based songwriting. Sharp-eared listeners will note that the main riff from Top of the World (from F.U.C.K.) was written around the ending riff from Jump. Jump was certified Gold on 4/03/84 and remained at the top of the charts for five weeks. |

Radio Veronica presenteert De 80's Top 880, de 880 beste platen uit de 80's. Vanaf maandag 7 maart konden luisteraars van Radio Veronica stemmen op hun favoriete platen uit de 80's via www.radioveronica.nl

De 80's Top 880 wordt uitgezonden van 11 tot en met 16 april en gepresenteerd door Radio Veronica-dj's als Rob van Someren, Jeroen van Inkel, Bart van Leeuwen, Patrick Kicken, Kas van Iersel, Ferry Maat, Arlo van Sluis en Peter Teekamp.

Station Manager Uunco Cerfontaine: "Het lijkt wel of de muziek uit de 80's alleen maar beter gaat klinken. Bij het format van Radio Veronica speelt de muziek uit de 80's een centrale rol. Daarom zijn we erg benieuwd welke 880 nummers uit de 80's onze luisteraars kiezen als favorieten."

"We hebben een keuzelijst opgesteld met alle platen die in de 80's de Top 40 hebben gehaald. Dit hebben we aangevuld met een aantal nummers die de Top 40 nooit hebben gehaald, maar die iedereen wel kent. Totaal kunnen onze luisteraars kiezen uit bijna drieduizend titels. Hieruit stellen we dan de De 80's Top 880 samen die we vanaf maandag 11 april uitzenden."
