The most recent rumor comes from an online post that listed a track listing from the alleged upcoming reunion album, supposedly due out in October. In a recent interview in Yamaha All Access, Michael Anthony was asked who the new singer is. He responded: "I can't tell you, we're saving the announcement for the right time. All I can say is, it's going to be huge. It's a name people will know." The article also says that Van Halen will launch a world tour in 2001.

The writer of this article also have a friend who ran into Michael at a recent hot rod show that his wife had a car entered in and he spoke to him about the Van Halen reunion. Michael told him they had been in the studio with David Lee Roth for months and confirmed they have a new studio album on the way.

The Dutch Van Halen Web Site is looking for Van Halen related advertisment banners like on the VH story, VH timeline and the VH albums pages, size only 400 x 51 pixels. There is still place for four banners. The banner on the VH news page (most visited) will be a animated collection of all the banners with each five seconds display time.

Volgende maand is het weer zover. Dan worden op 7 september in New York de MTV Video Music Awards gehouden. Dit jaar treden DMX, Blink-182, Chili Peppers, Britney Spears, Eminem, Dre Join, 'N Sync, Janet Jackson en Rage Against The Machine op. Meer namen van artiesten zullen nog worden bekend gemaakt, er blijft echter altijd een act over zonder aankondiging vooraf.

"We have something in the works... Something big! But we're not going to tell you about it now. Just wait; you'll see."

Dit zou absoluut geweldig zijn, een Van Halen presentatie aan de huidige, door alle Spears's en Aguilera's, verpeste muziekwereld. Zou het dan toch eindelijk gaan gebeuren? Dit zou DE vermelding van het jaar kunnen gaan worden.

Sources from Warner Brothers, Van Halen's label: "We have something in the works... Something big! But we're not going to tell you about it now. Just wait; you'll see."

The rumor mill is churning furiously in the Van Halen camp, where a number of web sites, fan postings and radio stations are reporting that the recording with David Lee Roth is almost completed. As expected, spokespeople for the band at Warner Bros. Records could not confirm anything at press time, and calls to the band's management were not returned...

There's apparently a lot of money on the table for a reunion tour with David Lee Roth, some say even as high as $170 million. But, of course, at this point, no one will comment.

Still nothing officially to report. It's almost 9 months now since it was announced that Gary Cherone had left Van Halen. The only official statement from the Van Halen camp has been "no news is good news."

It's one thing for Van Halen to be silent on the reunion issue, but for a band that have only officially said five words (!) since announcing that Gary Cherone was no longer in the band, they've still managed to keep themselves in the limelight, purely from the speculation about David Lee Roth being back. If David wasn't back in the band, it would be easy to put out a press release stating that fact. What are they waiting for? Still Edward's health?

Unconfirmed rumors:
The first single from the reunited Van Halen go to radio in mid-August. Title rumored to be Independent's Day. Record store owners emailed Van Halen News Desk reporting that Warner Brothers reps say there will be a new Van Halen album in October. First pressing will be a double CD. No word on the contents of the second CD but there is speculation it will be a live CD from the original David Lee Roth era.
