This is the coat of arms as it appears on the two sealing rings that my great-grandfather Asuerus van der Voort had made for himself on the 12th of August 1872. It was obviously derived from the unrelated Amsterdam Van der Voort family, who were originally from Flanders. The engraving on the seal is of course very small and back-to-front, so I had to create a new picture, using the same heraldic elements, but in an enhanced version. The colours are as I seem to remember them from a coloured picture of this coat of arms that I have seen before, but I'm not completely sure. I intend to do further research on the origin and the symbolic meaning of this coat of arms. Any information from anybody visiting this site is very welcome.
