member of this family was called "de Leda" (or "Van der Lede"), later
members were heer Jan I of Arkel and his son heer Arnout I of Noordeloos. "Van Dalem" was not a family name;
the first of this family to use that name was Roelof I who became heer of Dalem, a town just east of Gorinchem,
