AD 750-1129

Ponthieu

(Under construction)

For younger generations of ancestors who are descended from this family:
see page on Boulogne
see page on Chiny
see page on De Guise
see page on d'Ath

The earliest known members of this family seem to have been "Governors" (or even "Dukes"?) of Ponthieu and later Counts of Montreuil, Ponthieu, Montdidier and Ramerupt. The various sources vary considerably in their information on the lines of descent from Angilbert to Guillaume I, Count of Ponthieu (and/or Montreuil?). At the moment we do not know the parents of Hilduin IV, the husband of Lesseline de Turqueville, but he is likely to have been related.
