This is the homepage of the "Elza Hoeve". The "Elza Hoeve" is the dairy-farm of the family van der Post at Leiden. At the farm we milk black & white holsteins. In June 1997 we achieved a predicate for producing first class milk over the last 35 years.

The farm is situated in the south-west of the Netherlands in the province Zuid-Holland. The farm areal is 24 hectares. We only have gras. In the winter we feed silage and beetpulp. Beside de silage and pulp the cows get for about 6-8 kg of concentrates per day.

The milkquotum of our farm is 488000 kg. We lease for about 200.000-250.000 kg to other farmers. That means that we can produce for about 238000-288000 kg by ourself. At our farm we milk around 22 -28 cows with a average milkproduction of more than 10000 kg milk per year with 4.08% fat and 3.30% protein.

Our breeding goal is to breed cows with good legs, good udders and a good production. We use different kinds of bulls. The bulls we use and have been using are: Black Romeo, Blackstar, Buster, Celsius, Chief Mark, Cleitus, Corinto, Eastland Cash, F16, Fatal, Ferrari,Inspiration, Jaguar, Laurel, Lava, Lexus, Luke, Marlin, Marconi, Starbuck, Startmore Rudolph, Sunny Boy, Tesk, Ugela Bell

We like to go to holsteinsshows with our cows. Over the last 12 years we won a lot of prizes. The two most famous cows at our farm are: Libella 4 and Carla 22 Both cows won a lot of prizes at regional and national shows. Libella 4 even went to Barcelona and Brussel for the European Championship. We also flushed Libella 4 with Celsius and Startmore Rudolph. Some of the embryo's are for sale.
