Meer over offshore:
In Nederland bestond de stimulering van offshore windenergie tot 18 augustus 2006 enige tijd uit een subsidie van 9,7 Eurocent per kWh voor een periode van 10 jaar bovenop de waarde van de "grijze" stroom. Dit tarief is van toepassing op de gerealiseerde parken Prinses Amalia en Noordzeewind. Op 18 augustus 2006 werd het subsidiebedrag op nul gezet.
Het huidige kabinet streeft naar committering (subsidietoezegging) van 450 MW t/m 2011. Daarvan zou 250 MW in deze kabinetsperiode gerealiseerd moeten worden. In de loop van 2008 worden regelingen voor offshore-subsidies in 2009 bekend gemaakt.
